Resoft is a beautiful Brazoria County Park and we are excited to offer this first-time FeatherFest photography field trip!  It is an 80-acre day-use park near Alvin, Texas. The park has large, interconnected, crescent shaped lakes with islands in the middle.  During spring nesting/breeding season it becomes a mini-rookery. You will be able to observe and photograph Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets, Snowy Egrets, and Cattle egrets as well as Roseate Spoonbills and Cormorants. The opportunity for chicks on the nest may also offer good potential. There are several returning, nesting pairs of Wood Ducks to photograph, if we are lucky. We’ll walk as needed to get photos of these many birds.  I have also photographed spectacular sunrises here as well. The park has several renovated lakes with piers, extended paved walking trails, paved parking, covered shelters and restroom facilities. You will do well with at least a 300mm to 500mm prime or zoom lens.  Early morning light might require a tripod and there is plenty of room for them.

Bring: water, snacks, sunscreen, and bug spray.

This is a meet-at-site trip. Driving directions will be emailed prior to the trip.
