CONTEST RULES:
Submission Stipulations:
* If your image does not meet the required specifications, it will not be considered for the contest.
- Photos must be of wild birds, not captive.
- Photos must be in JPEG format at 300dpi, not larger than 10MB. Do not downsize your images.
- Photos must be taken in Galveston, Brazoria, Harris, Fort Bend, Jefferson, Chambers, Orange or Montgomery counties.
- Photos must have been taken after March 1, 2024.
- No signatures or watermarks allowed on entry photos.
- Images may be cropped, sharpened, color adjusted and/or altered in other minor ways. While cleaning of dust spots is permissible, removal of other elements such as distracting objects of the photograph is not permissible.
- The title of the photo must match the image file name. (Do not include your name in the photo or file image name.)
- Images may not be collages, composites or blends of more than one image.
- No AI generated images allowed. Original photo must be available upon request.
Entries are limited to two photos for each weekly contest. If more than two photos are submitted, only the first 2 will be considered.

Prizes:
The first-place winner from each week will receive a $50 gift card from Houston Camera Exchange.
A grand prize winner will be selected from the four weekly winners and receive a $100 gift card from Houston Camera Exchange.
Photographers who submit an entry grant The Daily News, Galveston.com, Visit Galveston, and Galveston Island Nature Tourism Council a license to publish and display the photo and to use it in promotional and fundraising materials for nature tourism efforts without compensation. Additional permission will be requested for using photographs for purposes other than listed above. Photo credit will be acknowledged whenever possible but not guaranteed.
