San Luis Pass encompasses a series of beaches located on the west end of Galveston Island. The mud flats and dunes hold a wide variety of photo opportunities for area birds.
What to Expect: During this field trip, you will visit specific locations based on light, wind, tides and availability of birds.
What to Bring & Equipment Needed: hat, towel, water sandals, water, snacks, sunscreen, insect repellent, and hand wipes (to remove sunscreen, insect repellent from your hands), and wear closed toed-walking shoes. With regards to equipment, suggested equipment includes camera with a 300mm or greater lens, 1.4x or 2.0x extender for added magnification, flash, tripod, and small camera bag.
