Kyle O’Haver

Kyle O’Haver is the Superintendent of Galveston Island State Park. Kyle O’Haver has been an avid birder and birding guide for over 15 years in Texas. He started his birding passion as a young boy chasing Wild Turkeys through the woods of his grandparents’ farm. After graduating from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a BS in Park Recreation and Tourism, he landed his first full-time position at Estero Llano Grande State Park and World Birding Center where he spent six years guiding visitors from all over the world to find those South Texas Specialties. This is also where his daughter Sibley was born and started her birding passion, too. After six years and adding another little adventurer to the family, Kaleb O’Haver, Kyle moved to become a Superintendent at Lake Colorado City State Park in west Texas. After four years of adventures and birding, Kyle landed his family here in Galveston as the Assistant Superintendent for 6 years, and in 2024 became the Superintendent of Galveston Island State Park.
