Kat Ross

Kathrine “Kat” Ross, a native Austinite, has been passionate about birding for over 15 years. As a dedicated volunteer with the Travis Audubon Society and a Certified Texas Master Naturalist, Kat has played a pivotal role in coordinating the Travis Audubon Young Birders Club and organizing birding classes for the Capital Area Master Naturalists training program. She has also been actively involved in Purple Martin rescues and monitoring in Austin during the summer. Since joining Birdability in 2023, Kat has combined her love of nature with her commitment to accessibility. She works with medically fragile children in Austin and cherishes sharing the joys of birding with others. While she enjoys birding in her hometown, she believes nothing rivals the magic of the Texas coast during spring migration. Kat is delighted to co-lead Birdability trips at FeatherFest and is eager to share the message that “birding is for everybody and every body!”
