April 16 @ 2:30 pm - 6:30 pm

kevin_malo_parula_warbler_secondDust off and brush up your warbler eye! Learn key concepts and techniques to improve your power of observation and sharpen your identification skills. We present slides of warblers that migrate through our area and explain ways of identifying these colorful birds. After a one-hour primer, we take a bus to Laffite’s cove. We’ve timed this trip to coincide with the afternoon arrival of migrating birds. Laffite’s cove is one of the best places on the island to see excellent views of warblers as they move through our area on their way to nesting habitat.

This workshop and field trip will be a tune-up or primer, for those taking additional trips to High Island or other woodlot venues where colorful migrating warblers can be expected.
