This workshop unravels some of the most difficult shorebird ID challenges that birders face in the field. Instead of showing all the shorebird species, Kevin will provide tips on how to identify and separate some of the tougher species. Comparative photo arrays of similar species with crucial ID text imbedded reinforces what Kevin says in his own words. Species covered include the yellowlegs, dowitchers, peeps, and plovers. Some regular occurring shorebirds species are also shown, but not covered in detail. This workshop does not involve technical ornithological terms, but some basic feather terminology is used, and obvious physical features are also a part of the ID process. Birders of all skill levels will find some helpful tips in this workshop, but the focus is on expert level information.
