Join Jim Stevenson on one of his favorite places to bird on the island! This San Luis Pass walk is an exciting, new FeatherFest experience, providing lots of birds, avian ecological lessons from Jim and some good, slow exercise. Nearly every group of waterbirds will be seen, with huge numbers of shorebirds. Some exciting land species will be squeaked from the marshes, like Seaside and Sharp-tailed Sparrows, Marsh Wren, Clapper Rail, and maybe Horned Larks in the dunes. Wear sturdy shoes and long pants, and please avoid wearing bright colors like red.
Bring water and bug spray.
Plenty of walking. Your feet may get wet so make sure you wear appropriate footwear.
This is a meet at site field trip. Driving directions will be emailed prior to the festival.
