FOOD and LODGING For FOOD needs that might occur during a field trip, no food (or beverage) is included in the price of any event. It is assumed that all guests will provide their own needs, to suit their own tastes. On trips that straddle the normal lunch period by two plus hours or so, the trip liaison person or trip leader, will find a suitable place to stop and if possible sit at a table, to enable you to eat lunch. Food for your trip may be obtained in the FF 2008 Birders Café in Old Galveston Square. It will be open on Friday and Saturday at 5:30 am and on Thursday at 7:45am and Sunday at 7am, and will stay open until 5pm except Sunday. The menu and prices for Birders Café are available, please click here to see a copy of the menu. For LODGING, please consider first those hotel/motels which support the festival with complimentary rooms for the festival’s trips leaders, keynote speaker, etc. If they fit your budget it would be appropriate to give them your business. The current sponsors are Casa del Mar, La Quinta Inn and Suites (8710 Seawall), Holiday Inn at the Beach, Comfort Inn and Suites (at 89th street), Harbor House, Hampton Inn, Hawthorn Suites (Victorian), Gaido’s Motor Hotel, Harbor House.
