Keynote Dinner reservations can be made in two ways:

  1. If you register for FeatherFest (and perhaps sign up for trips and events) please include and pay for “Keynote Dinner” as one of your choices. See the instructions in this site’s Registration section. Registrants pay $40.

“Hurricanes, Habitats and Birds”
An Opening Social Conversation
6:45 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

After meeting at the Opening Social, FeatherFest guests, event leaders and volunteers will gather for an open discussion about the effects of hurricanes on habitats, animal life and of course, birds. Three sanctuary managers will make short presentations and then address questions from the audience.

Expert Panelists: Winnie Burkett, Houston Audubon Society Sanctuaries Manager

Clinton Jeske, National Wetlands Center Manager who has studied the after-effects of Katrina in Louisiana

Patrick Walther, Texas Chenier Plains Refuge Complex Wildlife Biologist

Kevin Karlson

Recognized naturalist and wildlife photographer Kevin Karlson will present an audio/visual celebration of birding in the Galveston area. This is both a celebration of birding and a tribute to Kevin for his great support of FeatherFest. It promises to be a memorable event!
