This trip offers a combination of shorebirding in a long, shallow lagoon and canvassing for songbird migrants in woodlots, all on nearby Pelican Island. On both halves of the trip, Jim will be pointing out the calls of water and land birds, plus offering ecological insights into their avian lives. Many species of sandpipers are present, but the biggest emphasis will be on peeps such as the Baird’s Sandpiper we usually record there.
